It all started at my Grand-mère Gaudet's old house in Meteghan NS. Sitting in her mustard brown vinyl recliner, in front of the huge bay window that overlooked the bay of Fundy, I could see Iva's house. Her clothes snapping in the wind on her full clothes line that sagged so low that the pants in the middle of the line almost touched the ground. My Grand-mere Gaudet, sat at the kitchen table, scratching away at her bingo tickets, watching the traffic go by. Aunt Agnes was knitting away at a dish cloth, and at 14 years old, I was very eager to learn. It wasn't long until I had a pair of needles in my hands. I made a few dish cloths, but then set the needles down until the age of 23. Even then, I only made 2 or 3 dish cloths. But this time when I picked up those needles, at the age of 25, I didn't put them back down. Now you can see me anywhere from the doctor's office waiting room, to sitting parked at a red light, to the forest, next to a lake, on a mossy rock, knitting away. I carry those needles everywhere I go, and always have a slipper or two on the go.
So, that's why I started this blog, I'm just looking for a place where I can showcase all of my wicked slippers!
